I am posting this today because I had what I would call an epiphany, or the proverbial aha moment. After sifting through various “marketing educational” products I have found one thing. The strategies for making an income online have not really changed. The methods may change but the strategies are consistent. Here is everything you need to know about internet marketing in a nutshell.
1. You need to build a list of people who you can build a relationship with.
2. You need a lead capture page or a squeeze page for your subscribers to join your list.
3. You need to continually market to this list, offering great ideas, tips, strategies and making product suggestions so that if they purchase or join your team you earn income.
4. Repeat step 1
That is the simple key to successful internet marketing. The challenge is how do I drive enough traffic to my lead capture page so that I can get those people to opt-in. If you are going to educate yourself on anything online let it be this. One how to drive traffic to my site and two, how to convert that traffic into opt-ins. In my opinion the hands down number one method of driving traffic to your websites and establishing your presence online is article marketing. The results aren’t as fast as pay-per-click or solo ads, but if you do this correctly the results will pay off in your business forever. Why promoting your network marketing opportunity may put you out of business….
Are you promoting your network marketing business to everyone you talk to?

Have you ever wondered out of all the indicators what is the most important indicator that would identify a healthy thriving online network marketing business? Is there one key that sticks out above the rest? In the network marketing or internet marketing community there is one key that stands head and shoulders above the rest. If you are involved in a network marketing organization your success is usually determined by the number of people in your downline. This may look good on paper but let me make a shocking statement to you: A large downline today is not an indicator of long term success in your business. Here are two reasons why this is true:
1. Your downline is under attack.– Let’s face it every day especially online I get emails telling me about the next great mlm company. Every company is greater than the next and every company is the next big thing. This puts a strain on the loyalty of your downline. Loyalty in your downline, without any outside attacks, may be suspect at best, especially if they aren’t seeing a profit. You should be prepared because even if some of your group are seeing a profit some of these offers will seem irresistable and there will be downline casualties.
2. Your company may go out of business– Yes you read that correctly. There is a graveyard full of tombstones of once prosperous, now dead network marketing companies, may they rest in peace. So even if you had 100,000 people in your downline, will it matter if your company goes out of business?
So then, what is the one true indicator I can trust for long term success? The only indicator you can trust is how many leads are you generating per day. This is the number one thing you need to be doing in your business and it is the only thing that will guarantee your business will last. I’m sure you have heard this term before:
“The money is in the list”
These are the truest words ever spoken in regards to internet or network marketing. It is your lead generation ability that will become the foundation of your business for years to come. Your list will allow you to build relationships, share ideas, sell products and recruit people into your business. The good part is you can do this over and over and over again. Another great result is when people do decide to join you in your network marketing company, chances are they will stay around a little longer, it doesn’t mean they will stay forever but they will exhibit a little more loyalty, especially if you have developed a quality relationship.
So as you think of success in your business, think of it in only one way, how many leads did I generate today? In fact I now set my goals around this one variable. I judge my success or failure by how many leads I am generating each day. Nothing will happen in my business or yours until you get that person to come to your website and opt in, thus creating a lead. This is the one activity that sets the whole wheel in motion. Once the wheel starts moving the pieces of the puzzle will start to fall into place.
Is your business being affected by PDM Syndrome?
You are probably thinking right now, I have heard of a lot of things but what is PDM syndrome. In the world of network marketing there are some very specific reasons why people are failing online and there is one specific trap that has caught more people and it continues to catch people every single day. In fact I believe this is one of the main reasons people are failing in their online marketing efforts. I call this trap the PDM syndrome, the Product Doesn’t Matter syndrome.
Let’s understand what network marketing really is. Network marketing is a distribution channel where products or services are marketed or sold by a distributor to an end user or customer. So for network marketing to work effectively there has to be a product or service and there has to be a customer. If one of these critical elements are missing then you no longer have a network marketing company and you have what people may think of as “pyramid” scheme. I see lots and lots of network marketers who go into business with no real thought of who is the customer that will be actually using this product or they don’t have a clear understanding of what the product actually is. Where you see this very often is in the popular 1-up and 2-up programs which are often expensive to join but offer no real product or service that is a customer will use.
This leads to a question. What is a customer? A customer is someone who uses a product or service because of the benefit that it provides to them. That benefit may be because it saves them money, makes them feel better or they like the service they receive whatever it is, they benefit from it. Customers are the lifeline of any business. In fact take any company in the world and take it’s customers away and you will see a company that will be out of business very quickly. The same is true of any network marketing company. I like to use a simple equation that says this, no customers=no opportunity.
How do I know then if I am falling into the PDM trap and how can I avoid it? Let’s look at some tell tale signs of PDM.
1. Are you are sold on the opportunity before you are sold on the product? This is probably the biggest challenge in this area. Often people join an opportunity to make money, whether full time or part time and this desire can cloud their judgment as to the validity of the product. Remember in my mind no customers means no opportunity.
2. Are the only people using the product the reps in the company? Here are two very simple questions to ask yourself when checking to see if you have PDM syndrome. Would you use this product if you weren’t involved in this opportunity and would anyone else use this product without being involved in the opportunity? Remember customers use products because it benefits them, not because they are compensated for it. If there is no one outside the company using the products or services that company will not be in business long. Imagine if the only customers that ate at Mcdonald’s were the employees, what would happen to Mcdonald’s?
3. Are you always leading with the opportunity and never the product? I know of some network marketing companies that only push the opportunity. They put all of their marketing efforts into getting new reps and none into getting new customers. Does this sound like you? Some companies don’t even have retail sites where people can go and just purchase the product/service. It is always about pushing the opportunity and that will not work very long.
Now for the good news! The best part about PDM syndrome is it can be avoided with 2 simple solutions:.
1. Always lead with your product first. When evaluating any opportunity make sure there are people who actually have a need, want or desire for what you are marketing. Your goal in business should be to develop long term, repeat customers who like your products or services and who order them month after month. This will help establish a nice foundation for your business and help you to develop long term, residual income. Don’t forget, if no one wants your product then your opportunity is worthless I don’t care what the comp plan looks like.
2. Make sure you are sold on the product before being sold on the opportunity. Not only will this strengthen you own belief in the company but it will give you real integrity and true excitement when talking about the product or service. You become your own testimonial. This will also help you acquire new customers and also new reps into your business. It will never hurt your business!
As you go searching through the sea of opportunities out there remember customers and products are the most important part of any business opportunity. The value of your opportunity is not measured by the value your company places on it or the amount of money you can make in the compensation plan but by the value placed on your product or service by the customer who is using it. After all no customers will always equal no opportunity. In my next article I will answer the question how do I identify a good product or service and is my company measuring up?
A simple strategy to write 2 articles in 15 minutes….
When you think about writing articles, submitting emails, follow up
messages in your autoresponder and all of those things, one of the
challenges, especially with blog entries is the time it takes to
actually create the idea or for some people the time it takes to type
out the idea.
What if there was a very inexpensive way to write 2 articles, a blog entry and have an audio ready for your website in 15 minutes?
What if there was a way to flush out your ideas so you can remain
creative and at the same time remain very efficient in the use of your
time?
Here is a simple strategy that I use to help with this process. I will
simply record my articles or blog entries directly into a digital voice
recorder and it plays back to me what my thoughts were. This helps me
greatly because my brain works faster than my hands can type. Often I
will be 3-4 sentences ahead in my mind and my hands can’t keep up with
that pace.
If you are like most people you will get these great thoughts or ideas
and by the time it goes from your brains to your hands you have
forgotten some of what you wanted to say. Voice recorders can run
anywhere from $30-$60 and can record sometimes up to 300 hours. Some
of them even can convert to MP3 players so now you can also have a
ready made audio for your website, you can also create a video for youtube.
What a great way to brainstorm new ideas, get your articles and blog
entries done and it is a great way to never lose those awesome ideas
especially when your traveling in your car. In fact this morning on
my way to work I recorded 2 articles into my voice recorder and went
home and typed out what I recorded. This took me a total of about 15
minutes. The good part is I never have to worry about losing those
great ideas ever again.

Who Is The Online Bizman?
Hi, I am Clarence Haynes and I would like to first thank you for visiting my site. I have been involved with network marketing for the last 15 years. I have also worked from home as an educational sales advisor for the last 10 years.
